Study: Women paid 20 percent less than men in Minnesota
A new study prepared by the Washington-based National Partnership for Women & Families finds that Minnesota women earn 80 cents per every dollar men in the state are paid, reports the Star Tribune.
The findings were made in the group's analysis of the state's data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
The study found that the median pay for women in all eight Minnesota congressional districts was $10,164 less than the yearly pay for men, which was $50,580.
Nationally, the group says, women earn 77 cents per every dollar men earn.
