A stage at the Minnesota Zoo will be named for an influential and beloved concert promoter who died earlier this year.

The Pioneer Press reported that the "Sue McLean Stage" at the Zoo's Weesner Family Amphitheater will be dedicated at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday before that night's concert featuring Lyle Lovett and his Large Band. Zoo officials and members of McLean's family will be on hand for the event.

McLean's company, which has been taken over by her niece, has booked the annual Music in the Zoo series for nearly 20 years.

"Sue McLean was known to say, 'Live music is good for your soul,' and so it's fitting that we honor her with this namesake," said Zoo CEO Lee Ehmke said.

McLean was 63 when she died of cancer in May.
