Teen arrested in connection to recent St. Cloud shootings
A man has been arrested in connection with two recent shootings in St. Cloud.
According to the St. Cloud Police Department, the 18-year-old suspect was located and arrested at around 3 p.m. Thursday on the 1000 block of 9th Avenue South, the same area where the incidents took place.
The first shooting occurred on Tuesday at 3:27 p.m. in an alley east of Go For It Gas. The second shooting occurred the next day at 5:09 p.m. near the intersection of 8th Avenue South and 9th Street South, according to the department.
Both shootings are believed to have targeted the same vehicle, and suspect description indicated the same person was responsible for both shootings. Neither shooting resulted in injury or property damage.
Officers set up perimeters and used K9s to track a suspect after each incident, but were unsuccessful.
The suspect, who gave his address as being from West St. Paul, has now been taken into custody and is currently being held in the Stearns County Jail.
He is being held on charges of second degree assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen handgun and two misdemeanor charges of reckless discharge of a firearm.
