Man arrested for killing of woman in Woodbury home

The 39-year-old was taken into custody without incident, according to the Woodbury Police Department.

A suspect has been arrested in relation to the killing of a woman who was found dead in a Woodbury home Friday afternoon.

Woodbury Public Safety announced Saturday morning that a 39-year-old man had been taken into custody without incident in connection with the homicide on the 7500 block of Steepleview Road.

At 3:42 p.m. on Friday, a 911 caller reporter a man had told her he’d killed a woman in a home on the 7500 block of Steepleview Road. The caller also told officials there were children at the property.

Police and SWAT reported to the property, where several children of “varying ages” were evacuated.

The children told officers that the suspect had left earlier in the day and that the female victim was with him. They were not aware that the victim was in the house.

SWAT teams then entered the house and discovered the victim, who had suffered fatal stab wounds. Life saving measures were administered but were unsuccessful.
