A man armed with a sawed-off shotgun burst into a gas station in Burnsville Saturday evening and took two employees hostage before being persuaded to release them unharmed.

KSTP reported that authorities blocked off roads near the intersection of Highway 13 and Nicollet Avenue as the situation at the Holiday station unfolded. The station reports that the suspect fired one shot into the ceiling during the robbery attempt.

WCCO reported that police on the scene talked the man into surrendering and he was then taken into custody. Police have not yet released the suspect's name or detailed charges that he will face.
