Police in Moorhead are seeking a suspect in connection to offensive graffiti left on a mosque on Saturday night.

Staff at the Moorhead Fargo Islamic Center mosque at 2215 12th Ave. S. reported vandalism at the building at 5:20 a.m. Sunday.

Several "hate messages" were found on the building, including graffiti that said "Death to Islam," "Go to Hell," a Swastika, and other messages featuring racist language.

Surveillance was able to capture images of the suspect, who was wearing a camouflage jacket and a dark ski mask.

Anyone with information should call the Red River Dispatch Center at 701-451-7660.

The Council of American-Islamic Relations Minnesota (CAIR-MN) has called for local, state and federal authorities to investigate it as a hate crime.
