An hours-long standoff at a Bloomington apartment has ended peacefully, with one person taken into custody.

On Friday afternoon, authorities announced that a "large police incident" was underway and warned the public to stay away from the area of Old Shakopee Road West and Brunswick Avenue South.

They subsequently announced that a subject had barricaded themselves into a residence on the 1600 block of the latter street.

Per KSTP, the incident arose after the U.S. Marshall's North Star Fugitive Taskforce tried to arrest a person on a warrant there.

At one point, the station notes, shots were fired, but it's not clear who pulled the trigger.

Fortunately, at 11:01 p.m., Bloomington police announced that the suspect had surrendered peacefully:

Local residents were permitted to return to their homes around the same time.

The suspect has not been identified, and few details about the circumstances of the standoff have been released.
