A Minneapolis woman suspected of drunken driving is in jail after authorities say she ran into two people who were riding bicycles in northeast Minneapolis Saturday night, and then fled the scene, MPR News reports.

The two victims, Jason Bradley, 29, and his wife Kathryn Bradley, 28, of Minneapolis, suffered broken bones and other injuries, and are at Hennepin County Medical Center, according to the Star Tribune. Jason Bradley is in serious condition; the condition of his wife is not known, according to the newspaper.

The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Broadway Street NE and Marshall Street NE. Police say the driver, a 62-year-old woman, struck the bicyclists with her van, then kept driving and hit two other vehicles before coming to a stop a few blocks away.

She was driving with a revoked license, according to the Star Tribune -- the third time in three years that she's been accused of driving without a proper license.

Officers smelled alcohol on the woman's breath, and she admitted to drinking and driving, according to the police report.

The woman was treated for a minor injury and then taken to the Hennepin County jail on suspicion of criminal vehicular injury, MPR News reports.

The occupants of the other two vehicles were not injured, according to the Star Tribune.

This is the second hit and run involving bicyclists in just over a week. Last Saturday night, a motorist struck two people biking on a frontage road in Oak Park Heights and then fled the scene. One of the cyclists, Mai Yang, 35, of St. Paul, died a few days later. Her husband was also seriously injured, but is recovering.

The driver involved in that case has not yet been found, and the Minnesota State Patrol is asking for help tracking that person down.

Another fatal bike accident occurred in late June, when a South Dakota man was charged with hitting a southwestern Minnesota mom while she was bicycling with her two daughters.

Andrea L. Boeve, 33, of Steen, was pulling her two daughters in a bike trailer when she was hit by a Chevy pickup truck driven by Christopher Weber, 25, of South Dakota.

Weber was distracted by his cell phone and drifted onto the shoulder of the highway before hitting Boeve’s bicycle, authorities say.
