SUV sideswipes Maplewood ambulance, police vehicle in overnight crash
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating an overnight crash in which an SUV sideswiped a pair of emergency vehicles in North St. Paul.
The crash report says a 27-year-old Maplewood man driving a 2009 Saturn Vue was traveling south on Hwy. 120 near County Road 14 when it drove into the northbound lanes just before 2:30 a.m.
A Maplewood Fire ambulance swerved onto the right shoulder trying to get out of the way but was sideswiped, and so was a Maplewood Police squad that also swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid the collision.
Nobody was injured but the State Patrol says "alcohol was a factor" in the crash.
