Talk show host Glenn Beck spins conspiracy theory about Minnesota
Rep. Michele Bachmann has offered up a conspiracy theory or two in her time. Now the conservative commentator Glenn Beck has some of his own about the Minnesota congresswoman – and her state.
Beck this week said Bachmann is being targeted in an ethics probe because she was right about radical Islamists infiltrating the U.S. government.
“You see what they’re doing to Michele Bachmann?” Beck asked. “Michele Bachmann is under all kinds of ethics investigations now. Why do you suppose that is? She’s evil? She is uber-clear on what’s going on. Uber clear.”
Beck also targets the "nightmare of progressivism that runs rampant in Minnesota."
Forbes and Huffington Post explore Beck's claim that the State Department is out to get her because she has been asking questions about why Somalis are being "pushed" into her district. “She hasn’t gotten any answers, and now she’s under investigation, Beck said.
Beck says: "Do you know one of her districts is being settled by the State Department? Do you know the State Department just takes Somalis and just says, 'Oh, by the way, all you guys from Somalia, you go over here, and we're just going to develop a community for you here, in her district. And the State Department is just pushing them all into Minnesota."
Huffington Post and Forbes note that, in fact, Somalis have been relocated in Minnesota – but it started long before she took office.

On the other end of the political spectrum, "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart this week offered his take on Bachmann's claims that President Obama lives an unusually luxurious lifestyle:
