Target is hiring 10,000 seasonal workers this year in Minnesota, with 7,000 of the seasonal positions available at 57 Twin Cities-area Target stores.

A bulk of the hirings will take place during a nationwide seasonal hiring event Oct. 12-14.

Anyone interested can simply show up at any Target between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on any of these days and apply on the spot, or you can get ahead and apply right now at TargetSeasonalJobs.com

If you apply beforehand, you'll be eligible for a pre-scheduled interview and learn about job positions. If you wait to apply at Target in person there's a chance you interview on the spot but it's not guaranteed.

Seasonal hires earn a minimum wage of $12 an hour.

Current Target employees will also be offered additional hours to help staff stores during the busy holiday season.

A bonus to working at Target as a regular employee or a temporary employee is a 10 percent employee discount and a 20 percent discount on fruits, vegetables and other healthy items.

Nationwide, Target is hiring 120,000 seasonal workers, which is 20,000 more than the same period last year.
