Target to support Apple's new Passbook application for mobile coupons
Minneapolis-based Target says it is on board to support the new Passbook application in Apple's iOS 6 operating system, according to a company news release. Target guests who own an Apple iPhone and iPod touch will be able to use Passbook to send, store and access mobile coupons.
Passbook is not a payment system, but Target and about a dozen other retailers are working on a joint venture to develop a mobile-payment system.
Valleyfair amusement park in Shakopee is also expected to use the new Passbook application, the Pioneer Press reports.
