TCF Bank Stadium alcohol sales net $900,000
The University of Minnesota brought in more money that they expected during its first year of alcohol sales at TCF Bank Stadium since the stadium was opened in 2009.
The Minnesota Daily reports more than $900,000 was generated from alcohol sales this season, nearly double the projected total.
The University sold between 12,000 and 13,000 cups of beer each game--much more than the 7,000 cups per game that was originally estimated.
Those opposed to the sale of alcohol at TCF argued that it could result in drunk college students running amuck on game days, but police tell the student newspaper that there were fewer enforcements this year than in any of its previous three seasons.
