Teen at the wheel of truck that fatally struck bicyclist in Sherburne County

Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving a 16-year-old driver and a 60-year-old bicyclist. 

The fatal collision happened in Sherburne County just before 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the Sherburne County Sheriff's Office reporting that a man was riding bicycle on 150th Ave. SE in Santiago Township when a pickup truck driven by the teenager hit him. 

Ronald Harvey Otremba, of Palmer Township, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 16-year-old girl driving the pickup truck stopped and cooperated with authorities. She was not injured. 

The sheriff's office says Otremba was in the east lane between the fog line and the center line when he was struck. 

An investigation is ongoing.
