Teen charged with attempted murder of man shot in head in Farmington
A Farmington man has been charged after a Friday shooting left one in the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
Gage Allen David Anderson, 18, was charged with attempted murder in the first degree while committing a felony in Dakota County Court. He made his first Monday with bail set at $750,000.
A juvenile male was also involved in the incident and will appear in juvenile court Tuesday.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman told Farmington police she had observed a vehicle driving in the middle of the road with the driver pointing a handgun out the window on Friday afternoon.
Another man got out of the car and ran away from the driver. The driver reportedly pointed the gun at the man and followed him.
When officers responded to the incident, they saw the man stagger and fall outside the vehicle. He had been shot in the head, and was taken to a local hospital.
According to the victim’s report, Anderson and his friend allegedly robbed the victim during a drug deal. The pair wanted the victim to get more money and the victim attempted to escape the vehicle, at which point he was shot.
The two suspects were apprehended shortly after the shooting. The juvenile suspect was found in possession of a handgun.
“We are thankful the victim was not killed and that no other individuals were injured in this incident. We wish the victim a full recovery from this shooting,” Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena said in a statement.
