Nearly four months after a teen mother from Waite Park went missing with her baby, authorities have announced the pair are safe.
Morgan Stykes, 17, and her infant son Bobby Spence were "recovered from an address in Waite Park," according to a Friday news release from local police.
"Both are physically fine and have been provided safe housing," the release says.
It's a welcome update following the rather ominous one from two weeks ago, when police revealed the trail for the mother and son had gone cold.
At the time of the October disappearance, Stykes was described as a "juvenile runaway"; both she and Bobby were believed to be with the boy's father, a 19-year-old man whose whereabouts are not mentioned in the latest update.
The last anybody had seen of Stykes was surveillance footage from a store in Mississippi in November.
Authorities have not specified any of the circumstances surrounding the teen's flight from — or return to — Minnesota.
