Teen pickup driver from MN rear-ends Ford, killing man in South Dakota
A Minnesota teenager was involved in a crash in South Dakota that killed a 58-year-old man.
The collision happened Wednesday evening, Nov. 18, on Interstate 29 four miles of Watertown in South Dakota.
An 18-year-old man from Slayton, Minnesota, was driving a 2011 Chevy pickup northbound on I-29 when he rear-ended a 1969 Ford Mustang.
The Mustang was sent into a ditch, where it rolled. The 58-year-old driver, Charles Slettedahl of Stockholm, SD, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say he was wearing a seatbelt.
The 18-year-old, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
