Teen turns himself in for Friday morning St. Paul homicide
The person suspected of shooting and killing a man in St. Paul early Friday morning is now in police custody.
The incident took place inside a home on the 600 block of Elfelt Street in the Frogtown neighborhood. The victim was taken to Regions Hospital but died as a result of his injuries, marking the city's sixth homicide so far this year.
On Friday night, a 19-year-old man showed up at St. Paul police headquarters and turned himself in for the shooting, KSTP reports.
He's now being held in the Ramsey County jail "pending murder charges," the Star Tribune says.
The paper adds that the victim has been identified as 21-year-old Mark Franklin Jr.
No details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting have been released yet, but the case is still under investigation.
