A 15-year-old boy was killed on the Iron Range when he was run over by a skid steer as he helped move a tree on Friday.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says Alaric Lamke died in the accident at 6:30 p.m. in Clinton Township, south of Mountain Iron.

He was standing in the bucket of a Bobcat T300 with his father while it was being driven by another man.

As they were in the process of moving a tree across the property, Lamke fell off the tractor and went under the machine.

Despite the lifesaving efforts of paramedics, Lamke was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
