A teenager from Moorhead suffered severe lacerations to her leg when she was hit by the propellor on a pontoon just after 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office, the 19-year-old was on a pontoon with five others when she jumped into the water for a swim at Loon Lake near Vergas, Minnesota.
The driver of the boat is believed to have lost sight of her, and she was struck by the propeller while swimming near the back of the pontoon.
She suffered severe lacerations to her left thigh and was airlifted to Sanford West Hospital in Fargo for treatment. Her current condition is unknown.
BMTN has elected not to name the victim nor the driver of the pontoon.
Loon Lake is located about 15 miles south of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
