Two separate crashes involving semis claimed the lives of two men in the metro area on Tuesday.
In Coon Rapids, an 18-year-old driver died after colliding head-on with a semi on Northdale Boulevard near Xeon Boulevard.
According to police, the crash happened around 3:10 p.m. when one of the vehicles crossed the center line and then hit head-on with the other vehicle.
The teenager was extricated from the car and taken to Mercy Hospital where he did not survive his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
About an hour earlier on I-94 in Rogers, a construction worker was killed when an Ford F-150 spun into a construction zone after being rear-ended.
