Update: St. Anthony teen who left home has been found safe
A 15-year-old with autism who left his St. Anthony home has been found safe.
The St. Anthony Police Department had asked for help finding the teen Wednesday afternoon. But around midnight, the department provided a Facebook update saying he "HAS BEEN FOUND SAFE AND REUNITED WITH HIS FAMILY."
"Thanks to everyone for their assistance and concern!" the department added.
The original story from Wednesday afternoon is below.
Original story
A 15-year-old with autism walked away from his St. Anthony home, and police are asking for help locating him.
The boy, Joshua Adam Vanderslice, is described as a white male, 5-foot-2 or 5-foot-3, and around 140 pounds. He was last seen leaving his home near Silver Lane/Silver Lake Road, wearing a black shirt, blue jeans with holes and black shoes.
He recently moved to Minnesota and has no known family or friends, the police department says.
They're asking anyone who sees him to call 911, and do not approach.
The teenager also does not want to be photographed, so the department said it does not have a photo to share.
