Tennessee man killed after stepping into path of semi truck on Minnesota highway

A Tennessee man died after being struck by a semi truck on a Minnesota highway Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 2:53 p.m. on Highway 52 in St. Paul, at Belvidere Street, the State Patrol says, with the semi truck travelling southbound at the time.

The victim, a 28-year-old from Memphis, "stepped into the path of the semi" and was struck, according to the incident report. A Dodge Dart registered to the victim was stopped on Highway 52 at the time of the crash.

The man has not been identified pending notification of family.
