Texas man dies after being ejected from vehicle that hit parked cars in Winona

The crash happened on Hwy. 61 Wednesday afternoon.

A driver from Texas was ejected from his vehicle and killed in a crash in southeast Minnesota Wednesday afternoon.

Dean Thomas Pederson, 63, of Beaumont, Texas, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected when his 2019 Ford Taurus left the roadway from southbound Hwy. 61 and crashed into multiple parked vehicles in Winona, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The crash report says the Taurus left the highway and then crossed over a service drive into a parking lot, where it hit one parked vehicle before crossing Orrin Street and hitting three more unoccupied vehicles in a parking lot.

Pederson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
