The 19-year-old man critically injured in farm accident has died

A 19-year-old man injured in a farm accident on Wednesday has since died from his injuries.

Kaleb Fischer, 19, of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, was injured on a farm in Stark Township at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

He had been repairing a manure spreader when he suffered critical injuries, requiring airlifting to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office confirmed on Friday that Fischer died in hospital from his injuries.

It was the second fatal farming accident in the space of a few hours in Brown County.

A few hours after Fischer's accident, 53-year-old John Hoffman was pinned between a combine and a corn head at a farm near New Ulm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Farms across the state are currently working to harvest this year's crops, though wet weather earlier this month has put many behind schedule.
