Fire destroys historic downtown Waterville building

A morning blaze tore through a historic building in downtown Waterville, Minnesota, Thursday. The remains of the Rogers building will be torn down. It housed four apartments, a hair salon and a charity thrift shop. The Red Cross is on the scene helping the 15 residents, who were displaced.

Detective: Ex-officer admitted to hiding bodies in suitcases

A detective testified in court Thursday that the former police officer charged with hding the bodies of two women in suitcases before dumping them in rural Wisconsin admitted to killing them. Steven Zelich, 52, of West Allis, Wisconsin, was charged with two counts of hiding a corpse after the remains of the women were found June 5.

Mom who drove into pond now accused of neglecting surviving child

The mother who lost control of her car and plunged into a holding pond in St. Louis Park last year is now accused of neglecting her daughter who was injured in the incident. Two of the five children in the vehicle Marion Guerrido was driving on that November morning died as a result.
