Gas prices have been on the rise all year, with the average cost of a gallon in Minnesota jumping about 60 cents since the start of 2019. But if you're one of the millions of people that use a car to drive places, you can't avoid the pump.
You could try to fill up when it's cheapest, however.
GasBuddy released a new study analyzing the average price for a gallon of gas during each day of the week, to help sort out which days you should prioritize filling up your tank.
In 30 states, Monday generally has the least expensive gas prices. In Minnesota, it's not as straightforward.
Statewide, Tuesday is the cheapest option, GasBuddy says. But in the Twin Cities, Monday often has the lowest prices.
Monday and Tuesday from 7-10 a.m. also have the benefit of being the least busy time at gas stations.
Of course, you probably want to know the opposite as well.
The most expensive day to buy gas in Minensota - both across the state and in Minneapolis-St. Paul - is Friday, according to GasBuddy. That's also usually one of the busiest days at the pump.

As of April 10, 2019, west-central Minnesota featured some of the lowest prices in the state (under $2.60 a gallon), while counties along the southeastern border and up north along the Lake Superior shore were some of the most expensive ($2.70-plus).
