The family of two Twin Cities sisters who died unexpectedly while on vacation on an Indian Ocean archipelago are now looking to bring them home, and find answers.

Little information has been given to the family of Annie and Robin Korrki, 37 and 42 respectively, other than a media report from The Seychelles Nation that says they died on Sept. 22 at a resort in Anne Louis. That's a week after they arrived, and two days before they were due to return home.

Their bodies were both found unresponsive in their bedrooms by resort staff, the newspaper reports. The day before they had been seen drinking alcohol throughout the day, and were helped to their room at 8:15 p.m., according to the paper.

Annie Korkki had posted several pictures of their stay at the Maia Luxury Resort and Spa to her Facebook page in the days leading up to their deaths, one of them with the caption, "Best place ever!"

An online fundraising campaign has been started to help the Korkki family with the healing process and travel expenses, and so far it has raised more than $12,000.

"Their untimely death has left many all over the world saddened and undoubtedly heart broken. Robin & Annie were loving sisters and best friends," the GiveForward page says.

The Star Tribune spoke to their brother Chris Korkki, who said his mother and other brother – both of whom live in Colorado – are in the Seychelles trying to find out more information about their deaths from U.S. and local officials.
