St. Paul police are looking for a driver who fled on foot after his vehicle collided with a car carrying an 8-month-old baby, clipped a utility pole and then crashed into a St. Paul home.

The Pioneer Press reports that the chain of events began around 8:30 Sunday night when airport police attempted to pull over the car near Highways 5 and 55. It's not yet clear why the vehicle had attracted the attention of officers, but when the driver didn't stop, the pursuit continued across the Mississippi River. Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said that when speeds reached 90 mph, the officer called off the chase for safety reasons.

Not long after, St. Paul police received reports of a car crash near West Seventh Street and St. Paul Avenue. At that time, the fleeing driver had struck the car with a baby as a passenger. The baby was not injured in the hit-and-run crash. The driver continued for another block before hitting a utility pole and flipping the vehicle into a house on West Seventh Street. KARE 11 reports that there was no major damage to the home and nobody inside was hurt.

Ten days ago, an SUV crashed into a St. Paul bar and restaurant, injuring six people, including the driver. The vehicle was being pursued by the State Patrol when the driver lost control and crashed into the Bulldog in Lowertown.

The following day, three people were injured when a car crashed through a corner grocery store in St. Paul, the Winnipeg Grocery on the corner of Rice Street and Winnipeg Avenue. The car was towed away from the scene and the hole in the wall of the store was boarded up within an hour of the crash.
