Police are investigating the deaths of three people found at the entrance of a quarry near La Crosse, Wisconsin, as homicides.
The bodies were found at the entrance of the Milestone Quarry – located on County Road M between the towns of Holmen and West Salem, just before 5 a.m. Friday, according to the La Crosse County Sheriff's Office.
The bodies were found by two workers for Milestone Materials, who were arriving to start their shifts when they found them.
La Crosse County Sheriff Jeff Wolf says the killings are believed to have been a "targeted act," but at this point they have no motive or suspects in custody.
“For whatever reason, it occurred at this location for a specific reason," he said, according to WEAU. "I don’t think there’s any concern for residents or our communities."
