Thrifty White, one of three pharmacy chains distributing COVID-19 vaccines to the over-65s in Minnesota, has more than 800 appointments available in rural Minnesota cities.

You can find which pharmacies have appointments available here. Earlier this week there were more than 1,600 appointments available, but availability in some of the more populous locations such as Fergus Falls, Morris, and Detroit Lakes filled up quickly.

As of the time of writing, there are appointments available in the following cities – some of which would require a potentially lengthy trip if booked by non-locals.

On Thursday, Gov. Tim Walz announced that the state's vaccine program will be expanded beyond healthcare workers, educators, long-term care residents and over-65s this spring.

Before it can be expanded however, Walz wants 70% of Minnesota's over-65 population to have received at least one dose of the COVID vaccine.

As of Friday, Feb. 26, 45% have received at least one shot.

Along with Thrifty White, Walmart and Hy-Vee pharmacies have been selected as partners in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program for COVID vaccines.

You can also register for Minnesota's Vaccine Connector to be notified if there are available appointments near you.
