After a day that brought record high temperatures and strong winds to parts of Minnesota, the evening has ushered in some rain and thunderstorm activity.

The line of storms was being described as strong, but not severe for the most part. However, there was a severe thunderstorm warning issued for LeSueur, Scott and Sibley counties that expired at 8:30 p.m.

The line of storms is the result of a cold front moving into the area, which will bring us cooler temperatures for the rest of the week.

High temperatures in the Twin Cities metro area will be about 60 degrees on Thursday – that's 20 degrees cooler than Wednesday, but still well above normal.

Highs on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 40s to low 50s with plenty of sunshine.
