Tickets for Prince's solo piano performances at Paisley Park this Thursday quickly sold out.

They went on sale at Saturday, and were sold out by Sunday morning, the Paisley Park After Dark website shows.

The Pioneer Press says $250 VIP tickets for both the 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. shows went on sale at 2 p.m. Saturday and sold out quickly, noting the website began selling $100 general admission tickets after 4 p.m.

Thursday's performances come after The Purple One planned a solo piano tour in Europe last fall, Billboard says. Those were postponed after tickets were being resold at much higher prices – even before they went on sale.

Then, the terrorist attacks in Paris prompted Prince to postpone the tour, and now he's canceled it altogether, Consequence of Sound notes.

Instead, he's holding the "Piano and a microphone" shows in Chanhassen. A news release, according to the Pioneer Press, says "[Prince] inverted and reimagined the concept, announcing plans for an exclusive residency at his very own Paisley Park."

In an effort to prevent tickets from being resold, they won't be issued for the performances. Instead, people who bought tickets will be required to show their photo ID to get inside, the Paisley Park After Dark website says.

Prince is expected to play a variety of songs from his 39-album catalogue, with each performance having a unique set-list, Consequence of Sound says.
