Top 10 Liquors is growing, with a new location opening up in Roseville.
The Blaine-based liquor store chain has seven locations already in the metro area, but will be adding an eighth at 1611 County Road C West, near the Lunds & Byerlys.
It's the chain's fourth new store has opened since owner Jon Halper took over four years ago, though the first the company has developed itself having taken over existing business at its St. Louis Park, Ramsey and Osseo locations
At 11,000 square feet, it will be Top Ten Liquors' second biggest location after its Blaine store. Its others are in Andover, Woodbury and Cottage Grove.
The company has managed to go from strength-to-strength in spite of competition from the likes of big box liquor retailer Total Wine, which entered the market to much controversy a few years ago.
Halper told Bring Me The News that Top 10 Liquors is thriving thanks to its customer-focused approach, holding monthly free wine tastings in each of its stores and offering a loyalty program that's proved hugely popular.

While there have been grumblings from some liquor retailers about the legalization of Sunday alcohol sales, you won't hear it from Halper.
"Sunday sales have been positive for us," he says. "Sure there may be a little sacrifice from other days of the week but we have seen growth as a result.
He says Top 10 "really gets after Sundays," offering special discounts and giveaways for customers, who have responded "very favorably."
The new store is expected to open officially on the weekend of June 1, but could have its soft opening as early as next week if it has the right documentation in place.
