Tornado touches down west of Marshall in southwest Minnesota

The twister touched down just before 4 p.m. Sunday.

A tornado touched down west of Marshall in southwest Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. 

The Sioux Falls office of the National Weather Service tweeted this photo of the twister, noting that it was located northeast of Arco, or near the towns of Lynd, Minneota, Ivanhoe and Taunton. 

It's unclear if the tornado caused damage. 

The Storm Prediction Center had placed southwest Minnesota in a marginal risk for severe storms Sunday, but did not expect any tornadoes.

Spotters say a tornado touched down briefly near Glenwood this evening. Parts of southwest, west central and central Minnesota are under a tornado watch until 10 p.m. Tuesday. Large hail and damaging winds are possible.
