Trader Joe's closer to opening Lyn-Lake location

The Minneapolis Planning Commission has unanimously approved the plans for a new 14,000-square-foot store at 27th Street and Lyndale Avenue. If the City Council approves the project next month, construction could begin this fall and the store could open in May or June next year. This would be the sixth Trader Joe’s in the metro area.

Mpls. panel rejects Trader Joe's rezoning request

The Minneapolis City Council Zoning and Planning committee unanimously voted against a rezoning request for a new Trader Joe's grocery and liquor store in the Lyn-Lake neighborhood, the Star Tribune reports. The proposal now goes to the full Minneapolis City Council. City development staff recommended the rezoning be approved, but Council Member Meg Tuthill, who represents the proposed south Minneapolis location, says she doesn't believe in rezoning for one business.

Trader Joe's to open Bloomington store Oct. 5

The California-based small-format grocery chain will open its sixth Minnesota store this fall in Bloomington, the Business Journal reports. It will be located at Southdale 494 Shopping Center, located at Interstate 494 and France Avenue.
