Train kills Rochester man whose mobility scooter got stuck on the tracks
One person is dead after being hit by a train in downtown Rochester on Friday.
Ricky Allen Thalacker, 58, of Rochester, was hit by a train when his mobility scooter got stuck on the tracks at the intersection of Civic Center Drive Northwest and 1st Avenue Northwest.
Witnesses tell Rochester Police that the crossing guard was down with its lights flashing at the time of the accident.

The Canadian Pacific train blew its whistle and applied its emergency brakes but it was too late.
The incident is under investigation.
