Train loaded with coal derails near Crookston in northwest Minnesota

A train derailed in northwest Minnesota early Tuesday morning. 

A BNSF spokesperson tells BMTN that an eastbound "loaded coal train" had 13 cars derail west of Crookston, Minnesota, which Forum News Service reports is near 320th Avenue Southwest and 255th Street Southwest on the east side of Fisher, Minnesota. 

The derailment happened at about 2:20 a.m. and no injuries were reported. 

The train was hauling 121 loads of coal and four locomotives. 

BNSF crews are on the scene clearing the cars and repairing the tracks. All other trains in the area have been rerouted for the time being. 

The cause of the derailment is being investigated.
