Travel the world without leaving your seat at Omnifest
The Science Museum of Minnesota kicked off its annual film fest on Friday. And it's not your average movie theater screening.

They'll be rotating through five films on their giant, 90-foot domed screen. The William L. McKnight-3M Omnitheater is one of four convertible dome theaters in the world, according to the science museum.
Check out the films that are playing on the giant screen.
- Jerusalem – This is the newest film in the cycle. Viewers can explore the city from their seats and learn all about its history.
- Tropical Rainforest – The Science Museum of Minnesota's original production lets people dive into the rainforests of Australia, Costa Rica, French Guina and Malaysia.
- Forces of Nature – Experience tornados, earthquakes and other natural disasters from the safety of a movie theater and learn all about what causes them.
- Mysteries of the Great Lakes – Get up close and personal with caribou, bald eagles and other Minnesota wildlife. The film also explores some shipwrecks.
- Humpback Whales – Dive into the ocean and learn all about the 50-ton mammals that almost went extinct.
The eight-week festival runs through March 3, WCCO reports.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $7 for kids and seniors. Reservations are recommended and you can get your tickets here. The museum also recommends you arrive 30 minutes early.
