Tributes to two young friends killed in western Wisconsin crash
Tributes have been paid to the two young Minnesota women killed in a crash in western Wisconsin Saturday.
Kyra Winslow and Molly Young, both 20, died when their vehicle went off the road on eastbound I-94 near Woodville in St. Croix County.
The pair were reportedly on their way to Molly's apartment in Eau Claire, where she attended the University of Wisconsin.
They had been friends since high school, with both attending St. Michael-Albertville High. Kyra was a sophomore at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, where she was interested in majoring in strategic communications.
“I would just like everybody to remember her for the bright and shining star she was,” her father, Russell said in a statement to Tommie Media. “She made everybody better. She was so selfless.”
The University of St. Thomas issued a statement saying it has been in contact with her family, and is offering counseling services to students, faculty, and staff.
"We pray for comfort for her family and friends," the university said.
GoFundMe pages have been set up to help both families, which you can find below:
