A truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash while traveling through central Minnesota on Thursday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a man driving a Peterbuilt semi was eastbound on Interstate 94 near Melrose went he went off the freeway and crashed into the median around 8:30 p.m.
The driver, a 61-year-old man from Albia, Iowa, died in the crash.
The State Patrol reports that he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver's name is expected to be released later Friday.
To date, there have been 263 deaths on Minnesota roads in 2019. That's slightly up from the 255 killed on Minnesota roads at the same point last year, according to the Department of Traffic Safety.
