Truck hauling 17,000 baby turkeys crashes in Stearns County

It's not clear if any turkeys were injured or killed.

A truck hauling 17,100 baby turkeys was involved in a crash early Saturday morning. 

According to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 26 and County Road 92 – a rural area about 15 miles east of Glenwood, or 55 miles west of St. Cloud. 

The release says the driver of a conventional truck carrying more the baby turkeys in crates went through a stop sign and collided with a 2007 Toyota van. The driver of the van was injured when the van rolled into the ditch. She was transported to Sauk Centre Hospital for treatment and was expected to survive. 

The driver of the truck was also injured in the crash and taken to the hospital. 

Authorities did not say if any of the turkeys were injured or killed.
