How about this for riveting television: People sitting around on lakes fishing through the ice.

A production company is hoping that premise is more fascinating than a typical Minnesotan might think.

Beginning this weekend, Jupiter Entertainment and TruTV plan to start filming a pilot for a reality show about life on Lake Mille Lacs and Fisherman's Wharf Resort in Isle, Minn., Fox 9 reports.

A camera crew will film for nine days in the area, and producers say they are looking for colorful characters, Fox 9 says.

A crew of 13 – with no experienced anglers among them – plans to begin rolling on Friday in advance of a Saturday tournament that typically draws 200-300 participants, the St. Cloud Times reports.

Joe Murphy, an associate producer with Jupiter, said he was looking for enough good footage for a 45-minute pilot, the newspaper reports. Murphy declined to say which network was considering the show.
