An American Airlines flight bound for the Twin Cities from Charlotte, North Carolina, had to return to its starting point Monday night due to an "undisclosed security threat," CBS News reports.

American Flight 1865, with 178 passengers aboard, took off from Charlotte-Douglas International Airport at 8:43 p.m., and was only in the air for 24 minutes before it landed at the same airport at 9:07 p.m., according to the Charlotte Observer.

When they returned to the ground, passengers were evacuated from the plane and police swept the aircraft, WCNC reports.

After searching the plane, authorities gave the "all clear." They have not divulged the exact nature of the threat.

As of Monday morning, there had been no published updates on what type of threat prompted the landing.

Among the passengers were former Minnesota Gopher basketball players Trevor Mbakwe and Oto Osenieks, who tweeted several photos and this short video clip, in which you can hear the pilot explaining the situation.

Passengers waited in the terminal for a few hours before

" target="_blank">boarding another flight to bring them to the Twin Cities at around 11:30 p.m. CDT.

At 2 a.m., Osenieks tweeted video of the plane touching down.
