Months of investigation led to a massive drug bust in the north metro last week.

The Anoka-Hennepin Narcotics and Violent Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant on Friday, May 8 and discovered nearly 115 pounds of illegal narcotics inside a Shoreview apartment.

The task force seized 111 pounds of methamphetamine and 3.5 pounds of cocaine. The drugs had a street value in excess of $615,000.

A 32-year-old Inver Grove Heights man was in the apartment and he was taken into custody on pending controlled substance possession and sales charges. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $1 million.

The suspect's identity has not been released.

The task force was assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the DEA and the Ramsey County Violent Crimes Enforcement Team.
