Twin Cities Herberger's stores to stay open longer than anticipated

Originally expected to close all of its doors by the end of June, Herberger's locations throughout Minnesota are expected to stay open longer, the retailer's parent company, The Bon-Ton, Inc. announced Thursday, according to the Pioneer Press

The report says all metro-area Herberger's stores will stay open through mid- to- late-August, with Bemidji and other greater Minnesota locations likely keeping doors open beyond previously anticipated closures in June. 

Bon-Ton filed for bankruptcy in April and announced that it will close all 250 Herberger's and Younkers stores across the country, including 21 in Minnesota. 

The six Twins Cities locations are in Blaine, Bloomington, Edina, Maplewood, St. Paul and Stillwater.
