A 53-year-old Twin Cities man died after being assaulted at a residence in rural northern Minnesota last Friday.
The assault occurred at a residence on the 1000 block of Durand Drive Northwest in Puposky, Minnesota (about 16 miles north of Bemidji), around 2 a.m. May 21, the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
Authorities, responding to a 911 call regarding an assault, arrived to find Burgess J. Palmore of Bloomington dead from "homicidal violence."
Deputies arrested a suspect at the scene: A 21-year-old from Bemidji who is currently in the Beltrami County Jail on unrelated charges, awaiting his arraignment in district court.
The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Palmore's death a homicide.
