Twin Cities man found dead on beach near Grand Marais

Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead on a Lake Superior beach.

The discovery was made by a woman walking on the beach east of Grand Marais early Wednesday morning.

The victim has been identified as a 46-year-old man from the Twin Cities metro area, with his body found near mile marker 123 off of Hwy. 61.

His vehicle was also found near to where his body was located.

The man has not yet been identified by authorities, who are still informing his family.

An autopsy will determine his cause of death.
