Twins' Nik Turley demoted to Triple-A; two arms recalled
The Twins' starting rotation Nik Turley experiment has come to an end.
Turley took the mound Thursday night after a 5-hour rain delay, but his stint lasted just two outs. He gave up 6 hits and 5 runs (all earned) in the first inning, and was pulled before he could record a third out.
Shortly after the game, the Twins announced Turley was headed back down to the minors.
If you're looking for a reason why he was sent down, his numbers in his three major league starts speak for themselves:
Twins called up two arms (Trevor Hildenberger, and Dillon Gee) yesterday to join the rotation, which, clearly, continues to be a work in progress.
