Two Minnesota men were arrested in separate incidents this week after they threatened their wives with guns.

Man shoots, injures wife during car chase

A 66-year-old Stearns County man is in custody, accused of shooting at and injuring his estranged wife while chasing her in his car.

Authorities say the two were driving separate vehicles on Highway 4 in Stearns County about 10 a.m. Saturday when several calls came in to 911 describing how one of the vehicles was chasing the other one and ramming into it several times, according to KSTP. The witnesses also reported hearing gunshots.

When the woman stopped her car in St. Cloud, the suspect fired several more shots at her before fleeing in his pickup truck, WCCO reports.

The 63-year-old woman, whose name has not been released, apparently had at least one gunshot wound. She was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to KSTP.

The suspect, the estranged husband of the victim, was stopped and arrested a short time later. A handgun was found in his vehicle, KSTP reports.

Stillwater man threatens wife with gun in bed

The other incident occurred earlier this week, when a 73-year-old Washington County man was arrested and charged with pointing a gun at his wife after an argument in bed.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Larry Buberl of Stillwater Township, was charged Wednesday with two firearms assault charges in connection with the incident.

According to the criminal complaint, Buberl's wife became upset when he said another woman's name while they were "engaged in an intimate act" early Monday morning. His wife suspected Buberl was having an affair with that woman, according to the Pioneer Press.

After his wife confronted him, Buberl allegedly pointed a handgun at her and threatened her, according to the complaint.

Buberl's wife called police, who arrested Buberl and found a handgun in the drawer of a table in the bedroom.
